Porphyry, our standard stone, is a familiar name in Europe. It is a flat faced igneous rock characterized by conspicuous mineral grains embedded in a fine-grained groundmass.

Its unique and subtly variegated colors are the result of the alternate flowing and cooling of magma over 270 million years ago.
